Optimist or Pessimist? Contrasting ways to look at the same reality.

This set of glasses celebrates the ancient paradox that an identical glass containing exactly the same amount of water may, depending on the mindset of the viewer, appear to be either predominantly empty or predominantly full. What determines the difference is the level of hope, energy and information that’s brought to bear on the scene; what separates hope from despair is the ability to tell different stories from the very same facts. The glasses urge us to examine our prejudices and hint at the ease with which we might, by looking at things from a slightly different angle, recover a more hopeful and joyful perspective on life.
